Notary Information

To apply for a first time, or a renewal for a notary license, you need to go to sos.ky.gov and go to the "business" tab. Once you get into the portal you can download the notary form or you can apply online and pay the $10.

Once you have been notified that your certificate has been uploaded you will need to call an insurance agency to get a "surety bond" for $1,000. We issue the notaries at the Catlettsburg branch only, and we do not require an appointment. We accept cash, credit/debit cards (3% service charge fee will be applied based off of the total amount if you use a card) or check. To file your notary it's $19.00, and if we have to notarize the bond its an additional $5.00 per signature.
